Investment casting

Sand casting

A second stage is the compaction of the sand. This process is usually mechanized. Firstly, a drag flask or cope is filled with sand. This is then raised by air or hydraulic pressure and then allowed to fall back to its original position. This jolts the sand into the flask, which is then compacted. The final step is to force the mold into the desired shape with a plate.
Forging
Compared to forged pulley, casting pulleys have more complicated shapes. It is also cheaper to produce, and its shape and size are closer to the original parts.
