TRAILED POTATO DIGGER - 4 ROWS

A 4-row trailed potato digger is an advanced agricultural machine designed to unearth potatoes from four rows simultaneously, offering significant efficiency for medium to large-scale potato farming operations. As a trailed implement, it is towed behind a tractor, typically powered by the tractor’s PTO (Power Take-Off), and supported by its own wheels for stability and maneuverability.

Quad Digging Shares: Four adjustable blades or shares dig beneath the potato rows, lifting tubers, soil, and vines in a single pass.Depth adjustment ensures compatibility with varying soil types and planting depths.

Separation System: Features vibrating sieves, conveyor chains, or rollers to shake off soil and debris, leaving potatoes
exposed on the ground.Some models include additional cleaning mechanisms, such as finger rollers, to reduce clods and vines.

Trailed Chassis: Supported by a wheeled frame towed via a tractor hitch, enhancing stability and reducing tractor strain.
Often includes adjustable wheels for depth control and terrain adaptation.

PTO-Driven Operation: Powered by the tractor’s PTO (typically requiring 60-100 HP), driving the sieves or conveyors.

How It Works
Hitching: The digger is connected to the tractor’s tow hitch, and the PTO shaft is engaged to power the machine.

Digging: As the tractor moves forward, the four shares penetrate the soil beneath the rows, lifting potatoes and surrounding material.

Separation:The lifted mass passes over vibrating sieves or chains, where soil falls through, and potatoes (with some vines) are deposited on the surface in rows or piles.

Collection: Workers follow behind to manually pick up the potatoes, or a separate machine (e.g., a windrower) can gather them.
